Velvet Owl – Agnes Halydaye

This scroll was based on a 1454 confirmation of the charter of the city of Maldon. It was presented on September 17, 2022. The seal cords were woven by Seong Myeong Su.

I made this scroll in conjunction with my further research on sealing wax, in preparation for teaching a class at RUM (where the scroll was presented). The document I based it on was roughly the same size but had far more text, so I tried to stretch out the wording as much as I could.
