This suit was based on the Moroni portrait of Count Alborghetti and his son, from about 1550 in northern Italy. My goal with this suit was to create a basic mid-16th century suit pattern that would be comfortable to wear. I also wanted to make use of the black-on-black color scheme commonly found in 16th century portraiture, using differences in fabric and texture to give visual appeal.
