Pewter Belt Mounts

I needed to make a green belt for my belting to Mistress Margavati Bai and Mistress Adela Scrijver van Brugge and decided to make a belt in the style of Italian basse-taille girdles from the 13th-14th century.

My main objective was to try to replicate the visual appearance of silver and enameling of basse-taille with pewter and epoxy resin.

The belt is card woven with crochet cotton cord with 22 cards on an inkle loom, all 4 strands green.

The mounts, buckle, tip, washers, and purse hook are vast from pewter. Master Lorenzo Petrucci made my purse hook, washers, and rivets for my belt tip.

I entered my belt into Stella Nova at Midwinter A&S 2017 and scored a 15.
