When I first joined the SCA, I expressed an interest in learning Calligraphy and Illumination. My group, being very supportive of my interest, handed my the Illumination supplies for the shire and told me I was in charge. I thus became the Scribal Regent for our group. So I began to learn about how to do calligraphy and illumination and began taking classes when offered, and I discovered that I love the painting, design, and calligraphy involved in making award scrolls.
