Precursor to a Penner

So I was asked to make a thing.  Now that could be any kind of thing so of course I was intrigued.  The thing ended up being what’s called a penner, something a viking like myself had no earthly idea as to what it was.  A penner is a small leather case used to carry things like quills, cutlery, or other types of personal possessions and is often seen in later period artwork, and is also known as cuir bouilli.  While this upcoming project thing was not a pouch but another type of container I was definitely on board.  Here’s one of the many inspirations found on the Victoria & Albert online Museum.

I haven’t completed the project as of yet, but I’ve started to upload pics from the process.  Stay tuned for more!
